Original Item. One-of-a-Kind set. This is an interesting group of five reproduction U.S. Airborne insignia pieces believed to be associated with the production of the 2001 HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. This is what we were told, but we have no provenance to back this up. The group consists of two airborne overseas cap badges, two 101st Airborne Division shoulder patches, and one 82nd Airborne Division shoulder patch. There is unfortunately no accompanying provenance or documentation confirming that these specific pieces were used during filming, although their construction and appearance are consistent with reproduction insignia of the type previously encountered from the production.

The items include one Paraglider blue overseas cap badge with a red border, one Parachute troop blue overseas cap badge with white border, two 101st Airborne Division patches with integral rockers, and one 82nd Airborne Division patch with a detached rocker.

Band of Brothers premiered on HBO in 2001 and was based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 book of the same name. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the series dramatized the wartime experiences of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, following the company from stateside training through campaigns in Western Europe. The production became particularly noted among militaria collectors for its extensive use of recreated WWII uniforms, insignia, weapons, and equipment.

This is a very nice lot of patches used in Band of Brothers. As mentioned we do not have any provenance for these, but they came from a collection with several other reproduction pieces used during filming.
