Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic Colonial era wood drum canteen with wood hoops locked by tongues. Raised bung. Traces of thin old red paint. No carrying strap loops. See O’Donnell, Canteens, Plate 010 for a similar, identified Revolutionary War example. Condition is very good with small scattered worm holes overall, one hoop is a bit loose but will display perfectly. Measures 8" in diameter by 5" wide. A very nice rare canteen dating from the days of the American Revolution.
