Original U.S. 19th Century Native American Indian War Club with Old Museum Numbers - All Wooden Construction

Original Item: One of a Kind. Here we have a typical 19th Century War Club, as used by various Native American groups. It is a relatively simple design compared to some we have seen, but is made from a single piece of wood, with the 2" x 1 1/2" end made from the where the branch connected to the tree, making it very sturdy. Judging by the color, we assume it is American black walnut, or something similar, a sturdy wood used for gun stocks and other items where strength and durability are important. It measures 25 1/2 inches in overall length, and has a lovely curve to it.Due to the simple design, we have unfortunately not been able to attribute it to any specific Native American group. However, the number 1692 is written on the side of the club in two different sizes, in a very obvious museum style. It is really in nice shape, and looks to have been carefully cared for over the decades. The wear and age of the wood at the head is very tremendous. Ready to research and display!
