Original U.S. 19th Century Kentucky Style Percussion Musket

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. An interesting and simple mid-19th century Kentucky style smoothbore musket. Gun is mounted with a "trade lock of the period that appears to have been converted from the original flintlock configuration. The barrel is has .14 thick walls and at one time could have been rifled.

Full native hardwood stock with brass mounts including a hook butt plate. 37" barrel with both rear and fore sights, 43" overall length. Toe of butt missing in addition to toe of butt plate, but fashioned to look intentional.

A very pleasing long arm, displaying a very attractive curve to the butt stock so reminiscent of Kentucky rifles. This is ideal to hang over the fire place.
