  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a tremendous piece of Presidential history, a real D.C. Metropolitan Police badge from the Ingaruation of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Vice President Richard M. Nixon.

    The badge is a standard vertical pin-back which is in great order. This example is numbered 894 and is in fantastic condition with the original bright finish still intact. It measures 2¼ x 3⅛”. 


    The Inaugural badge tradition started in 1937 with the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Washington D. C. Metropolitan Police authorities and the commissioners issued Inaugural Badges to selected individuals for identification purposes and access to the inaugural events. Each badge was silver in appearance and numbered on the face of the badge.
