Original Turkish WWI Long Quill Back M1903 Mauser Bayonet with Steel Mounted Leather Scabbard

Original Item: Only One Available. Heavily based on the German M1898 Mauser bayonet, these are very hard to find with their original quill back blades intact, and still clearly marked in Turkish script at the ricasso of the blade. This fine example measures 25 ¾ inches overall, and has the typical long "pipe backed" 20 3/4" blade, also called a "quill back". There are many other Turkish proof and Military markings overall.
The hilt features smooth wooden grips, and a large hooked quillon crossgard with a knob to one end. The bayonet comes complete with its original steel mounted black leather German style scabbard. Please see Watts & White’s fine work THE BAYONET BOOK, page 281, item 627.
