Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This WWII Swiss bayonet is marked as being manufactured by the Waffenfabrik (or “Arms Factory”) in Neuhausen, Switzerland. This bayonet comes with the original scabbard with a leather tab connected, and it retains the original manufacturer’s mark on its ricasso.
This example is in great condition, with the only real "wear" being from storage and oxidation. The blade has nothing
but runner wear and very light staining on the factory ground surfaces, and it has a clear maker mark on the ricasso:
WAFFENFABRIK
NEUHAUSEN
The name simply translates to "Weapons Factory Neuhausen," which was one of the primary edged weapon suppliers in the first half of the 20th century. The edge and sawback are excellent, and there are just a few small areas of staining. A beautiful example of the unique "swell-point" shape. There is a Swiss Cross scratched into the scabbard.
There is more staining and light peppering on the hilt, but nothing major. The grips are excellent with just some tiny indentations in areas, and the latch works perfectly. No issues to speak of. The scabbard, which was originally bright steel, now has a lovely black paint covering the surface which appears to have been done long ago.
A very good example of a Swiss bayonet, complete with a steel scabbard, ready to display.
