Original Swedish WWII Era M21 High Top Steel Helmet with Liner and Chinstrap
Original Item: Only One Available. The Swedish military M21-18 helmet was introduced in 1921 as the second version of the M21 helmet. The first version, the M21-16 had a wider brim. Swedish M21 (18), also known as the "high top" was the second type having a narrower brim and less of a crest, these helmets were developed in 1918 but did not come into production until 1922/23, made of quality materials at the Eskilstuna Factories. The model was later simplified, removing the crest, front badge, and helmet liner band, creating the M26. These remained in service throughout WWII, after which they were then eventually phased out by the M37.
The skull has a slight rib or brim running from the nape of the neck to just above the steel helmet plate. The steel badge on front has three raised crowns and worn blue and yellow decals to each side also showing the three crowns. The early style three pad leather liner comes with a full adjustable leather chinstrap.
The Model 1926 although, not often encountered today, have been available is some quantities in the past, however these early Model 1921 helmets have become been quite hard to find of late and unfortunately we were only able to obtain this one from a private collector.
Offered in very nice collectible condition.
