  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. The Spanish Falange of the Juntas of National Syndicalist Offensive , commonly known as the Spanish Falange of the JONS and, in short, FE of the JONS or FE-JONS, was a Spanish political party that shared the fascist and national-syndicalist ideology, resulting from the merger on February 15, 1934, of the Juntas of National-Syndicalist Offensive (JONS) of Onésimo Redondo and Ramiro Ledesma with the Spanish Falange (FE) of José Antonio Primo de Rivera.

During the Second Republic, it played an important role in the development of events leading to the Civil War. It was born with the support of reactionary forces and right-wing parties who used it as a shock force. It did not achieve significant popular support; however, its frequent raids and clashes with the most radical left-wing groups, mainly youth organizations, its violent acts and assassinations contributed to creating a climate of insecurity and violence conducive to military coups.

The FET y de las JONS began as the Spanish Falange, a Falangist party, The Council of National Syndicalist Offensives, a national syndicalist party and Traditionalist Communion, a Catholic monarchist party, three parties that were becoming relevant in Spanish right wing politics before the civil war. The Spanish Falange and the Council of National Syndicalist Offensives were relatively small and merged into the Spanish Falange de la JONS leading up to the 1936 election.

This is an enormous silk flag/banner for the F.E.T. DE LAS J.O.N.S, with gorgeous chain-stitching on the letters and the five-arrow insignia. The banner has a header at both sides so it could be hung from either end. The banner measures roughly 52 ½ x 85” and is in great shape for its age, but there is very heavy staining across the flag, especially on the orange portions. Thankfully the stitched area is in fantastic condition. This would make a tremendous wall or glass table display.

An extremely scarce flag, ready for further research and display.
