  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a fantastic Spanish Officer’s sword manufactured by the Artillería Fábrica de Toledo, or the Artillery Factory of Toledo, Spain. It has a manufacture date of 1896, just prior to the Spanish-American War, putting it into the lot of swords sent to Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines to fight the United States in 1898.

The sword has an overall length of 36 ½“ and is marked on the blade FÁB’CA DE TOLEDO 1896., for the Artillería Fábrica de Toledo, or the Artillery Factory of Toledo, Spain. The blade is in good shape with spots of oxidation as is expected for its age. The hilt consists of a sharkskin grip wrapped with wire, some of the wire is loose but it is all retained. The scabbard retains its single ring, and is in overall great shape.

These Spanish-American War Officer’s swords don’t come up often. This one is complete and ready for further research and display.
