The Medal "For Battle Merit" (Russian: Медаль «За боевые заслуги») was a Soviet military medal awarded for "combat action resulting in a military success", "courageous defense of the state borders", or "successful military and political training and preparation". It was created on October 17, 1938 by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union. Like the Medal "For Courage", its status was revised to prevent the medal from being given for years of service (a practice that was rampant in the USSR) rather than actual bravery during a battle. More than 5,210,000 medals were awarded between 1938 and 1991. This example has a great patina and retains the ribbon well. The back of the medal is serial numbered 1579380.

The Medal “For Courage” was awarded to soldiers of the Soviet Army, Navy, border and internal troops and other citizens of the USSR, as well as to persons who are not citizens of the USSR, for personal courage and bravery displayed in battles against the enemies of the socialist fatherland, while protecting the state border of the USSR, during the performance of military duties in circumstances involving a risk to life. This example has a great patina and retains the ribbon well. The back of the medal is serial numbered 828751.

The Medal "For the Capture of Berlin" was a World War II campaign medal of the Soviet Union established on June 9, 1945 by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to satisfy the petition of the People's Commissariat for Defense of the Soviet Union. This example is in fair shape with just the normal patina.

The Medal "For the Victory Over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" was a military decoration of the Soviet Union established on May 9, 1945, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to denote military participation in the victory of the Soviet armed forces over Germany in the Great Patriotic War. This example is in fair condition with some storage wear, and comes with its original award document, naming it to Stepan Denisov Yaresko with an award date of November 22nd, 1968. The back of the document is numbered 0084613.

A great group of Soviet medals, ready for further research and display.
