Original Item. Only One Available. The 37mm automatic anti-aircraft gun model 1939 (61-K) (GRAU index - 52-P-167) was a Soviet anti-aircraft gun developed during World War II. It was based on the Swedish 40mm Bofors gun and designed by M.N. Loginov. The 61-K was the first Soviet automatic anti-aircraft gun to be produced in large quantities. A family of naval anti-aircraft guns was also developed based on the 61-K, and the gun was installed on the first Soviet serial self-propelled anti-aircraft mount on the tracked chassis, the ZSU-37. The 37mm 61-K anti-aircraft guns were actively used throughout the entire duration of World War II and remained in service with the Soviet Army for a long time. In addition to their use against ground targets such as tanks, the 61-K was effective against ground attack aircraft, bombers, and dive bombers.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
This is a great 37mm round for the M1939 AA Gun, well-marked on the fuse with acrylic letters, and a 44, which we believe indicates a date of 1944. The round measures roughly 15” overall. The projectile cannot be removed for inspection of the interior.
The base of the shell is marked with further symbols and 43r, which may indicate 1943 manufacture. A great example, ready for further research and display.
