  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original Soviet WWII PPSh-41 inert display submachine gun assembled from an original 1945 dated matching numbered parts set and accompanied by a stick magazine. The surviving original components are a;; serial numbered ГВ 762, including the receiver, barrel, rear receiver tang, trigger guard, and stock. It retains much of its original blued finish and remains an especially well marked display example.

This Russian PPsh-41 display Machine Pistol is built on a BATF compliant non-firing display receiver. The upper receiver has had an area replaced, and the last 6 inches of the receiver have been completely replaced with solid steel bar stock. Additionally, the bolt has been demilitarized and welded into the forward position per BATF specifications. That makes this display gun totally legal to own without a license of any kind. Every part on this display gun is original manufacture other than the portions of the receiver that have been replaced (as required by BATF). The receiver latch and hinge have been welded closed, so there is no way to open the receiver at all. This makes a perfect display piece of an exceptionally hard to find WWII Submachine Gun.

The top of the receiver is marked with a З in a circle, which is actually the Cyrllic letter "Z", the marking for Moscow Automotive Factory Zavod imeni Stalin (ZIS), a known maker of the PPSh-41. Just above the barrel securing bolt it is marked with a 1945 date, and below this it is marked with the serial number:

    ГВ
    762

We rarely see dates on these due to how they are usually demilitarized! We can also see a 0 inspection marking on top of the barrel tab. The receiver tang to the rear of the latch is also marked with the full serial number ГВ 762, which matches the marking on the trigger guard and right side of the barrel. The stock is also stamped with ГВ 762 on the left side, though it is a bit faint, and there is a larger struck through marking above it. That makes this a desirable "MOSTLY MATCHING NUMBER" example, put together from a parts set that was made by demilitarizing a single PPSh-41, and didn't have parts mixed up afterwards, though the stock does appear to have some period repairs to the right side of the receiver, and some scuffing to the left side This example comes complete with the stick magazine, which will be deactivated where required. The magazine is painted with a 17 to one side, giving it a great look.

The barrel bore remains unobstructed and retains strong rifling, with a bright finish, however due to the position of the dimilitarized bolt we can not see the condition of the chamber. These observations describe only the surviving barrel component and do not indicate functional capability because the receiver and bolt have been permanently altered as described above.

The wooden stock remains in very good condition, with a lovely golden finish, showing light service and handling wear. There is however an arsenal repair on the right side of the stock above the trigger guard. The butt trap door is present and operates freely, though there are no tools or oiler in the compartment.

Overall condition is very good, with strong original finish, matching observed serial numbers, clear 1945 date, intact stock, and extensive surviving original Soviet components. The replaced receiver section, approximately 6" solid steel rear receiver section, permanently welded forward bolt, stock repairs, and welded receiver latch and hinge are all fully disclosed.

With its 1945 date, Cyrillic factory marking, matching serial number БА 9662 across the major surviving components, original blued finish, intact stock, and included stick magazine, this is a strong Soviet WWII PPSh-41 display piece. It would fit especially well in a Soviet infantry weapons, Eastern Front, WWII small arms, or inert military display collection.

    History of the PPSh-41:
The PPSh-41 (Russian: Пистоле́т-пулемёт Шпа́гина, tr. Pistolét-pulemyót Shpágina, lit. 'Shpagin's machine pistol') is a Soviet submachine gun designed by Georgi Shpagin as a cheap, simplified alternative to the PPD-40. Common nicknames are "Pe-Pe-Sha" from its three-letter prefix and "Papasha" meaning daddy.

The PPSh was a magazine-fed selective fire submachine gun using an open-bolt, blowback action. Made largely of stamped steel, it could be loaded with either a box or drum magazine, and fired the 7.62×25mm Tokarev pistol round.

The PPSh saw extensive combat use during World War II and the Korean War. It was one of the major infantry weapons of the Soviet armed forces during World War II.
