Original Soviet WWII 1944 Dated PPSh-41 Display Machine Pistol Serial БП 8901 with Drum Magazine

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. These have become very difficult to find, and this is definitely a well marked example! This is a great Russian PPsh-41 display Machine Pistol, built on a BATF compliant non-firing display receiver. The upper receiver rear of the serial number markings has been completely replaced with a dummy receiver, and the deactivated bolt welded in place. That makes this display gun totally legal to own without a license of any kind. Every part on this display gun is original manufacture other than 50%+ of the upper receiver that as been replaced (as required by BATF). The barrel has been deactivated, and has had the chamber welded closed. This makes a perfect display piece of an exceptionally hard to find WWII designed Sub-Machine Gun.

This example comes complete with correct drum magazine (where permitted) and full wood stock. The top of the receiver is marked with faint arsenal marking, which unfortunately cannot be seen due to the paint applied to the display gun, which has started to crack and check. Under this marking is a faint 1944 date, and on the other side of the ejection port is a faint serial number, which reads БИ 5674. These may require a magnifier to read due to the cracked paint. We rarely see dates on these due to how they are usually demilitarized!

The receiver tang to the rear of the latch is marked with the full serial number БП 8901, which matches the marking on the trigger guard. The stock is also stamped with 8901. There are other numbers and symbols stamped on the barrel jacket and barrel, however we are not able to decipher them.

This example is really in great shape, and has the safety still moves and the trigger can still be pulled. The butt stock still has a functioning butt trap, which still contains the original period tools for the PPSh. There are no cracks in the stock, which looks great, showing just a bit of wear. With the magazine this really has a great look!

A great display piece, ready to add to your cold war collection!

History of the PPSh-41:
The PPSh-41 (Russian: Пистоле́т-пулемёт Шпа́гина, tr. Pistolét-pulemyót Shpágina, lit. 'Shpagin's machine pistol') is a Soviet submachine gun designed by Georgi Shpagin as a cheap, simplified alternative to the PPD-40. Common nicknames are "Pe-Pe-Sha" from its three-letter prefix and "Papasha" meaning daddy.

The PPSh was a magazine-fed selective fire submachine gun using an open-bolt, blowback action. Made largely of stamped steel, it could be loaded with either a box or drum magazine, and fired the 7.62×25mm Tokarev pistol round.

The PPSh saw extensive combat use during World War II and the Korean War. It was one of the major infantry weapons of the Soviet armed forces during World War II.
