Original Soviet Russian Cold War Naval Dagger marked BULAT 1981 with Scabbard & Hanger Belt

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful example of the traditional Soviet Union Naval Officer's Dagger, complete with its black velvet and moire material knife belt. The whole set shows very little sign of use at all, and there is even still an original issue tag on the belt, stamped stock number information in red. This is the full set, with both hanger straps included, and even the hook on a chain for securing the dagger higher.

The bagger features gilt brass alloy mounts and a nickel plated blade, in unissued condition. The blade ricasso is maker marked and dated in Cyrillic with БУЛАМ / 1981 (BULAT / 1992) under a leaping Pegasus logo, and has a serial number on the reverse: 109959. The grip of some sort of yellow ochre type synthetic bone, which does show a bit of age. The pommel has a Soviet Star on the tip, and the USSR Emblem on the side. The brass mounted leather scabbard is embossed on the throat with a fouled anchor on one side, and a Man-o-War on the reverse.

The dagger is 12 1/4 inches long with a 8 1/4 inch double edged spear-point blade, a classic dagger design. The scabbard lock is fully functional, and the hilt is still tight to the blade, with no wobble. The included belt measures 36 inches at present, though could maybe be adjusted out another inch or so, and definitely can adjust shorter.

An excellent condition Soviet Navy Dagger, right from the early 1980s cold war era. Very attractive and ready to display!
