  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very impressive original Soviet Cold War 9M14 Malyutka, known by the NATO reporting name AT-3 Sagger, configured as an inert training missile for assembly and loading drills. The Malyutka was one of the Soviet Union’s best-known anti-tank guided missile systems and was produced in very large numbers for Soviet and allied forces throughout the Cold War. This example is clearly marked 9M14P1 and appears to date from April 1976.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

This example is a training missile, intended for assembly and loading drills. It is not functional, and can never be converted into any type of functional weapon. It’s roughly 35” long. There is heavy wear and oxidation to the paint. The side of the body is stenciled:

    OПOPA
    9M14П1
    04-76
    984
    27-76-22

This likely denotes a date of April 1976. The missile is in very good condition, with the expected wear from storage and training. It retains one of the red clips attached to it in the crate which is now absent.

The 9M14P1 was part of the improved Malyutka family and is associated with the later AT-3C Sagger C generation of the system. The original 9M14 entered Soviet service during the 1960s as a wire-guided anti-tank missile and was later supplemented by improved Malyutka variants with updated guidance and warhead performance.

This example was intended for instructional handling rather than combat use, allowing personnel to practice assembly, transport, and loading procedures without a live warhead. It retains one of the original red clips used to secure the missile within its transport crate, although the crate itself is no longer present.

The Malyutka became one of the most widely distributed Soviet anti-tank guided missile systems of the Cold War and was adapted for man-portable launchers, armored vehicles, and helicopters. Its compact dimensions, wire-guided control, and broad export distribution ensured a long service life across Soviet-aligned militaries and numerous regional conflicts.

The combination of the clear 9M14P1 designation, apparent April 1976 date, surviving training markings, original red retaining clip, and honest storage wear makes this a particularly interesting Cold War instructional example. In its present completely inert configuration, it provides an excellent display and study piece illustrating the training and logistics side of Soviet anti-tank missile systems.
