Original Item. Only One Available. The SFG 87 (lit. 'Singapore Fragmentation Grenade 87') is a defensive fragmentation hand grenade created in Singapore. The SFG 87 has been mass-produced since 1987 by Singaporean weapons manufacturer ST Kinetics replacing the older SFG 82 and SFG 75 variants. The SFG 87 has a military green plastic pre-fragmented body with approximately 2800 steel balls, each one having a diameter of 2 mm, ingrained into the inner shell. The shell has distinct ribbing across the outer surface. The grenade has an overall length of 110 mm and a diameter of 54 mm.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
The grenade contains approximately 150 grams of Composition B, which is ignited by pulling the safety pin, thus igniting the primer with the use of a Percussion Mechanism when the grenade is thrown, and the lever is released. Once ignited, the fuse lasts 4.5 seconds before exploding.
This is a great example of the scarce Singapore SFG 87 hand grenade, the first example we’ve ever offered. It retains tags on the sides reading:
FRAG
SFG 87M
EJN 005
The fuze is in good shape with a tag reading EJN / 005. It can be removed to see the interior, still loaded with steel balls.
The original canister is marked:
GREN HAND FRAG SFG 87M
EJN 005
An outstanding example, the first we have ever had. Comes ready for display.
