This is a signed print of “Hour of Liberation” by Larry Selman, signed at the bottom by Forrest L Guth and William J. “Wild Bill” Guarnere, two distinguished members of “Easy” Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. The frame is well-put together and the print is very clear. This is a limited run print, numbered 157/500.

“Hour of Liberation, June 6th, 1944 marked the turning point for the war in Europe and the final destruction of Germany. The allied conquest began with the daring nighttime assault led by American and British Airborne forces. For the Screaming Eagles of the 101st this was their first test under fire. America’s finest young men jumped into the flack-filled night sky over Normandy, France, changing history forever.”

The frame comes with the original certificate of authenticity, matched to the number of the print. The frame measures 25 ¾ x 30 ¼” and is in great shape.

The two veteran signatures give the print considerably more historical significance.

Forrest L. Guth was one of the original members of Easy Company and served with the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division throughout WWII. He finished his military service as a Technician Fifth Grade and later became one of the veterans associated with the history remembered through the “Band of Brothers” story.

William J. “Wild Bill” Guarnere was likewise a member of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and made his first combat jump into Normandy on D-Day. He later served through Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge before being severely wounded at Bastogne.

With its Larry Selman artwork, edition number 157/500, signatures of Forrest L. Guth and William J. “Wild Bill” Guarnere, matched Certificate of Authenticity, excellent framing, and direct connection to Easy Company and the Normandy airborne assault, this is a particularly strong commemorative piece for a collection focused on the 101st Airborne Division, the 506th PIR, D-Day, or the men later remembered as the “Band of Brothers.”
