Original Items: Only One Pair Available. This is a very nice set of OTTOMAN Turkish flintlock pistols, made in the late 19th century for the Tourist Trade. They are made very much in the same way the late 18th - early 19th examples were, however the functional components are definitely of lower quality, and they were never intended for actual use. These pistols were very popular with the "Barbary Pirates" of the Mediterranean sea, and were made in several different styles.
The tourist pistols we have hear both bear extensive embossed metal covering, just as with the originals, and one has more of a "ball" end to the grip, while the other has very popular "rat tail" often seen. Both have "faux" ramrods as part of the metal cladding, which was a very common part of the style. The actual ramrods used were stored on a lanyard around the neck, so that it could not get lost. The pistols both have locks that are semi-functional, and neither has a half cock position. Definitely for display only!
