Item Description
Original Item: Only One Set of Two Available. This is a very nice set of two Imperial German WWI Era display Wimpelen (Pennants), which would be hung up and displayed inside and out. They are quite decorative, and would definitely make great display pieces.
The first pennant is made from wool, and has a tag on the header marked FAHNENRICHTER / KÖLN, most likely the maker. The background is the German Imperial Tri-Color, and there is the emblem of the Imperial House of Prussia in the center. The pennant measures approximately 13 1/2" by 7", and has a hanger tie running through the header.
The second pennant is cotton, with with a black and white background, which would usually be for the State of Prussia, but it has an emblem showing a Lion with Hearts around it, usually associated with the Duchy of Brunswick. It is marked LSK 1901 on the top of the emblem shield, which we have not been able to identify. It is in good condition, with some fading, and measures approximately 10 1/2" x 8", with a hanger tie on the top.
A very nice set, ready to research and display!
