Original Item: Only One Available. Fitted with a 10 1/2" double edged blade with a wood mounted grip, this really shows its age and a lot of use! The blade has double fullers running the length of the blade. The traditional Dagger of the Russian Cossacks, this style of fighting knife has been in use for Centuries.
This example is possibly the most used and worn we have ever encountered, however the romance this brings out when thinking of the 1965 Movie DOCTOR ZHIVAGO makes one realize the terrible conditions in Russia during and after World War One. The tip of the blade is rounded from use, the tang is broken under the grip and an iron band has be wound around the hilt to keep everything in place.
The leather covered wood scabbard has brass mounts to both top and bottom. The whole dagger has clearly given very faithful service. If only such items could tell us their tales.
