  • Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a relic but most appealing English seige helmet from the English Civil War of the 1640s. Very heavily rusted, this may very well have been used as a funeral helmet from some church. It also may have been recovered long after the battles, possibly left in some barn.

Very old helmets are so very hard to find that in the Victorian era, they were reproduced to fill the mansions of the "new rich" of the industrial age. In this case the helmet seems too far gone which in a way may indicate a greater age. It is partly functional, with one of the two hinges still intact, however it is definitely not in serviceable condition anymore. The rust damage has gone through the steel in many places, so it is in delicate condition.

Offered as is for its decorative qualities. Makes a wonderful display if you can get this past your spouse.
