Original Rare German WWII SA-Wehrmannschaften Personnel Leather Belt with Aluminum Buckle - RZM M4/22

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Sturmabteilung Wehrmannschaften (Storm Division Military Team) Aluminum Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß) with correct leather belt. It is embossed with the standard NSDAP Political eagle with straight outstretched wings. This is clutching a wreath with an enclosed mobile swas. The swas and wreath are in turn encompassed by a circular, simulated, twisted rope border with oak leaves. This example was cast as a single piece of aluminum, which was then crimped over to form a buckle.

The back of the buckle is stamped with the RZM logo next to M4 / 22, the code for Christian Theodore Dicke of Lüdenscheid, a city with a very large clothing accessories industry. This was the ONLY company to manufacture this particular buckle, and they are quite rare.

The belt itself measures about 37” when fully extended, and does not have any markings we can read. There are trades on the clip end of the buckle, but they are quite worn. The leather is in good condition, and has most of the black finish on the outside of the belt. The inside is a lovely brown color, and there are no cracks or tears. There is however quite a bit of wear, and the belt has been shortened at least once. The existing stitching is also deteriorated, especially the part holding the adjustment tab to the belt.

A very rare WWII German belt, ready to display!

The SA, Sturmabteilung (Storm Division), were originally formed in August of 1921 as a protective guard unit for the political leaders of the fledgling NSDAP Party. As with the NSDAP, "Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei" (National-socialist German Worker’s-party), the SA was structured along para-military lines. Most of its recruits were from the ranks of the various "Freikorps" groups of the day, composed mainly of disgruntled ex-soldiers, and they were first utilized at a NSDAP party meeting in Munich in November of 1921.

The Sturmabteilung-Wehrmannschaft (Storm Division Military Team) was the military training defense group of the SA and was formed in 1939. The purpose of this organization was to provide military training to SA members before and after their military service. It also served as an internal defense unit.
