Original Item: Only One available. This is a very nice example of a rare German WWII NSFK Dienstmütze (service cap), introduced in 1937. The basic design is a beret, and it was supposed to be manufactured in one piece, with no seam, which this example is. These were worn by enlisted members of the NSFK during standard operation, and it is made of very nice charcoal gray wool. It features very nice Goldgelb (gold-yellow) piping sewn around the crown, matching the Corps Color for the "Flight Branch" of the Luftwaffe. The front crown has the correct early war NSFK Reichsadler.
The interior of the cap has the remains of a stamp on the inside crown, which looks to begin with "NS-Fl", however the rest is completely illegible. The beret has a very nice brown leather sweatband, embossed with Deutsches Erzeugnis (German Product), and stamped on the underside with size 57. There is also a paper label at the back stamped 57 as well.
Overall condition is very nice, showing wear from service but no major damage or mothing, though there are a few small holes on the lower left side. The colors are still vibrant, and it is definitely a very colorful beret.
These are rare in any condition, and this is definitely a solid example. A very hard to find NSFK Beret in very nice condition, the first example that we have ever had! Ready to display!
The National Socialist Flyers Corps (Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps; NSFK) was a paramilitary organization of the NSDAP Party that was founded 15 April 1937 as a successor to the German Air Sports Association; the latter had been active during the years when a German air force was forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles. The NSFK organization was based closely on the para-military organization of the Sturmabteilung (SA). A similar group was the National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK).
