Original Item: Only One Available. This is a classic Ersatz bayonet issued as an emergency measure during WW1 by the German Army. There were multiple models of Ersatz bayonets but by far the most difficult to find are those with brass hilts. This particular Bayonet has a 9.5 inch blade having been shortened from the original 12 inches to conform with post WWI Bayonet lengths.
Also included is the original German WWI scabbard, custom shortened, that started life for the M-98/05 Butcher Bayonet. This was a common event for Ersatz Bayonets as their production was considered imperative to the war effort and mix and match scabbard models were quite typical.
