  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting Belgian socket type bayonet, designed around 1850. It doesn't have an actual socket, but instead mounts to a gun by sliding in to a channel on the barrel, and there is a spring type lock at the end. This was designed to fit a muzzle loader marked "N.C. Lardinois, Armourer De Le Roi Des Pasys Bas" on the rifle. The base of the blade is maker marked A S.

Condition is quite good considering the age. It does have scattered staining and light pitting on the blade, giving it a lovely worn patina.

We've never seen the like of this bayonet before! The model is illustrated in Paul Kiesling's Bayonets Of The World, Volume Two, Page 61, Item 390. Never Issued With Scabbard Apparently. Very Rare.
