Original Prussian Mauser Model 1871 Carbine K.Mod.71 - Made in Austria

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original, Austrian made, under contract, Karabiner Model 1871 Prussian Carbine intended for use of cavalry and lancers.

Made by the Austrian Weapons Factory Limited, which is abbreviated in German on the gun to read; OESTERR.WAFFFB.GES. The weapon is dated 1876 and covered in German acceptance and proof stampings.

Single shot 10.4mm, bolt action this is what replaced the Dreyse needle fire Rrfle with which the Prussians defeated the French and their Chassepot needle fire rifles in the 1870 Franco Prussian War.

These Mauser 1871 Rifles even saw service in the First World War with reserve units. This was the same time that Great Britain adopted the 1871 .450/577 Martini Henry Rifle.

A Prussian M-71 Cavalry Carbine is now very scarce and is eagerly sought after by collectors. This example, completely restored to virtually as issued condition would fit into any 19th century vintage rifle collection.
