Item Description
Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a very interesting propeller stand made from a section of a Midwestern Aviation Company Marshall Propeller. There's not a lot of information about that company. We do know that they some made props for the OX5 engine when it was used on Waco aircraft, but there isn’t much more we could find on the maker.
The piece measures roughly 26¾” high with a base measuring 8¼ x 10”. The markings on the side of the propeller read:
AIRCRAFT PROP. CO.
NO. 311 DES. 81
R.P.M. 2100
R.F.8
There is a cup nailed to the top of the propeller, which we believe may have been used as a candleholder or lantern holder. We thought it could possibly be for a flag of some sort, but it’s not deep enough. A very peculiar piece for sure.
A great propeller piece, ready for further research and display.
