  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an exceptional piece of history! It's a rather rare, original Pre to Early World War One era Austrian-Hungarian Cavalry Saber. The sword is adorned with a beautifully designed half-basket guard that features floral motifs, adding to its elegance and charm. The guard is still intact, retaining its originality, and is a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. The red buffer pad is still present as well! This sword is a true treasure and would make a valuable addition to any collection of historical artifacts.

The 34” nickel-plated blade is marked on the ricasso:

    WEYERSBERG
    & STAMM
    SOLINGEN
    EISENHAUER

Weyersberg & Stamm, Waffenfabrik was located in the legendary "City of Blades" in western Germany, Solingen. There is not much known about this company, which made edged weapons from 1817 to 1885.

The nickel-plating of the blade is well-retained but has some spots of oxidation and loss, as well as the usual runner wear.

The scabbard of this example is in good condition, though it does show a lot of past surface oxidation on the exterior. It has the standard single hanger ring, and fits the sword well.

Overall a highly attractive sword from the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, ready to research display!

    Specifications:
    Blade Length: 34”
    Overall Length: 39½”
    Scabbard Length: 34¾”
