Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an excellent Polish late Cold War era uniform set belonging to a two-star General in the Polish Air Force, who likely served from the 1960s into the early 1990s. On the left breast pocket is a 60 year anniversary badge for the OSL, which was founded in 1928. This denotes the uniform was worn at least to 1988 and likely later.
In the pocket we found an outstanding 21-place ribbon bar, and we were able to identify some of them. From the top, we could identify the Wound badge with two stars for two wounds, the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Order of the Cross of Grunwald, Golden Cross of Virtuti Militari, Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Silver Cross of Virtuti Militari, the Cross of Merit with Swords, the Cross of Valor, and many more we could not identify.
The jacket has Polish pilot’s wings on the left breast hanging from their chain, and great cord work on the right shoulder. The shoulder boards are correct for a Divisional or two-star General. There is unfortunately no name anywhere in the uniform.
The trousers are in similar great condition, and this will make for an excellent mannequin display.
