Original Item: Only One Available. The “Talibon” or “Talibong” sword comes from Luzon and from Visayan areas in the Philippines, and usually referred to as used by the Christian tribes. Also known as “Garab”. Characterized by the heavy blade, slightly concave spine and exaggerated belly. The handle is down curving usually with three petal flower shaped pommel which provide a solid grip to the sword holder. The Talibon is a formidable fighting weapon, extremely lethal in the hands of the experienced warrior
The Talibon blade shown here is forged from damascus steel and is extremely sharp. The wood handle is finely carved and bound with brass adornments. Carved wood scabbard is very well done and a seam cannot be found giving the appearance of being carved from a solid piece of wood.
Blade 18 1/8 inches long and 1 ¼” wide at its base with a total length of 23”. The overall condition is very good and could just use a good cleaning!
