  • Original Item: Only One Available. This was an unusual find in that it is virtually the only OTTOMAN Flintlock Holster Pistol we have had that actually has an operational ramrod. Usually the ramrod is no more than a simulation cut into the fore stock for visual purposes only. Apparently the Turks kept ramrods on neck straps so they could not be lost while on horse back.

In all other respects this is a good example of the very early 1800's period of Flintlock holster pistol used throughout the OTTOMAN EMPIRE. All brass mounts, the wood full stock carved in decorative form, both lock and iron barrel are either etched, engraved or carved for added flamboyance.

Measuring 20" overall length, with a barrel just under 13", this is just the type of Flintlock Pistol used by the Barbary Pirates that the United States Navy fought in the early 1800's.

Fully cleaned, works on half cock but full cock needs adjustment, complete with flint, ready to display.
