Original Item: Only One Available. Dating from about 1800 this is a flintlock blunderbuss pistol from the Ottoman Empire, which was based in Constantinople / Istanbul in Turkey. At the time the empire had spread to encompass almost all of the Islamic world. Its overall length is 17 3/4 inches, with the barrel itself measuring 9 inches. The barrel and lock are enhanced with dull Silver inlaid decorations, and the woodwork carved into the shape of a rifle stock despite being intended for use as a handgun. The butt stock is also inlaid with brass studs.
Typical imitation faux ramrod, as the actual ramrod was carried traditionally on a cord around the Camel driver's neck, where it could not be dropped. There is also a saddle ring bar installed on the left side of the pistol.
Quite a handsome example of this very typical Ottoman style Flintlock Blunderbuss, fully cleaned and ready to display!
