  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an interesting Ottoman sword in the style of the well-known Mameluke sword, but with an Eagle Head pommel and an all-brass hilt engraved with floral motifs and the Crescent moon insignia of the Ottoman Empire.

The 27½” curved blade shows heavy service-use with many small chips to the edge. There is heavy oxidation spotting across the blade, but miraculously, it still retains the leather blade buffer. It also appears that the very tip of the blade is a bit worn down. The all-brass hilt still retains some of its original finish, but much of it has worn away. The hilt is still very tight to the blade.

Overall a very nice Ottoman sword which we haven’t been able to find other examples of, making for a great research project. A great example, ready for further research and display.

    Approximate Dimensions:
    Blade Length: 27½"
Blade Style: Single Edged Curved Saber with Fuller
    Overall length: 32 1/2“
