Original Item. Only One Available. This is an exceedingly rare poster hung in the city of Požarevac, Serbia in 1942. The poster discusses two kidnapped members of the German Wermacht Air Force and offers 20 Serbian hostages in exchange for the 2 kidnapped men.
The poster discusses the taking of hostages. It is printed in German and Serbian, notifying the public: "…despite the request made by the German Army, the two kidnapped members of the Air Force...have not been returned...Therefore..according to the order of [a general in Serbia] twenty hostages will be taken by the Commander in Serbia in exchange for the two army men…"
The poster is signed at the bottom to the Commander of the German Wehrmacht in the Pozarevac district, Lieutenant General JUPPE. It is dated November 19th, 1942. There are some tears in the center but it is overall in great condition for its age and location taken from. This is a very rare and unique poster that we have never seen an example of before, and likely never will again. Worthy of restoration! Don’t miss it!
