  • Original Item: Only One Available. Designed to fit a 45/70 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle, these you just don't see anymore, probably a totally useless weapon that was supposed to double as an entrenching tool. Issued in 1873 and never considered a great success, these have basically dried up from the collector's market.

Well constructed of 100% steel this socket bayonet comes with its much rarer brown leather covered tin scabbard complete with belt hanger bearing U.S. brass rosette.

Developed to serve double-duty as a combat bayonet and entrenching tool, 10-inch long and 3 3/8 inches wide blade, with a reinforced spine. Knurled grip section, with a patent marking on the right side.

Bayonet and scabbard are offered in good/very good sleeper condition.
