Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Well this is an Italian Percussion Pistol of truly MASSIVE proportions. It is 20 inches in length, with a heavy .71" rifled barrel measuring 13 inches in length. While this would have had incredible stopping power for a pistol, it must have also been a BEAST to shoot. The pistol features a brass trigger guard and butt cap, while the rest of the fittings are iron. It has a 3 inch long belt hook on the left side, which looks almost comically short in comparison to the barrel.
The lock plate on this pistol is unmarked, however the barrel has a clear TA marking on the right side, followed by a date of 1863. There is a CROWN / RA proof mark on the cap bolster, while the other side of the barrel has another proof mark, and the Italian Royal Shield of the House of Savoy. The pistol also features a wood stock, and still has the original ramrod. Condition is very good, and the lock functions correctly, holding at half cock, and firing at full. The half cock position is however quite close to the cap nipple
In just splendid condition overall, ready to research and display!
