Original Late 19th Century to WWII Era Austro-Hungarian Empire Medal Group - 12 Items

Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is a great USGI Bring back set of medals from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, one of the nations created when the Holy Roman Empire was dissolved in 1806. It is a country with a long history full of memorable personalities, and with those came an equal number of medals and orders awarded for military and civic achievements. We assume that these medals were brought home during the post WWI period, but they may also have been brought back after WWII.
The set of 12 medals / awards is offered in very good condition, with each medal attached to the correct ribbon, folded into a triangle shape. These are hooked around the hanger rings of the medals, and are also in very good condition.
This set consists of the following medals / awards with ribbons:
- One Austro-Hungarian WWI PRO DEO ET PATRIA WWI Commemorative Military Medal 1914-1918
- One Austro-Hungarian WWI LAESO MILITI Wound Medal. No stripe in the center of the ribbon indicates an award for someone invalided out of service.
- One Austro-Hungarian WWI Military Merit Medal with Swords on Wartime Ribbon, recognizing a higher grade of merit. This is the post April 18, 1917 version with Charles (Karl) I of Austria on the front, and the dual Austrian and Hungarian crowns at the top of the medal.
- TWO Austro-Hungarian WWI Emperor Franz Joseph I Medals for Bravery in Bronze. One has a red/white ribbon, while the other has a red/white/green ribbon.
- One Austro-Hungarian WWI Emperor Charles I Medal for Bravery in Bronze with crossed swords.
- One Austro-Hungarian WWI Franz Joseph War Service Medal 1873.
- One Austrian OCTO LUSTRA WWI Era Militia 40 Year Long Service Medal.
- One Austrian Franz Joseph I 50 Year Jubilee Medal (Signum Memoriae) 1898.

- One Bulgarian WWI Commemorative Medal
- One Commemorative Medal for the Liberation of Upper Hungary (Felvidéki Emlékérem) 1938
