Original Late 19th Century Ivory Hilted Miniature Officer Sword for a Child

Original Item: Only One Available. Over 100 years of storage we have received this charming "miniature" officer's sword, 27 inches in overall length and of European origin. Almost certainly expressly constructed for a specific officer's young son this dates from the latter part of the Victorian era.
The steel four bar basket guard is fitted with a figured bone or ivory grip. The blade is 23 inches and fullered down each side and there is a scabbard locking hook on the left side of the hilt where a small section of the guard used to fold forward to lock the blade into the scabbard. This small folding section is now absent as is the scabbard.
A charming little sword that no doubt once made a little boy very happy, ready for a good cleaning and display.
