Original Late 18th Century Relic Condition French Flintlock Pocket Pistol by Simon of Paris
Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a truly charming small Flintlock Pocket Pistol with an overall length of 6 1/2", marked on the underside of the barrel with SIMON / A PARIS. It originally featured a fold away trigger, however it has been completely broken off. It has a 2" barrel with a smooth bore of approximately 0.39". The frame has some lovely engravings on the sides, and around the trigger.
The pistol is nice, but the damage to various components puts it in "relic condition", suitable for display. The safety behind the hammer is broken off, as is the entire upper portion of the frizzen. The grip looks to be walnut, and is flat-sided with a nice "bag" shape.
This possibly could be put right, but as it is the pistol is already great as a display piece. Ready to attempt restoration, or display as is!
