Item Description
Original Item: One-Of-A-Kind. This is a fantastic WWII Imperial Japanese Officer’s personal photo album from what appears to be during his time while in China. There is a lot of old style Kanji handwriting on each page, but unfortunately due to the style in which it was written, it’s rather hard for us to translate, making this a wonderful translation opportunity.
This photo album consists of 270 personal pictures of an Unknown Imperial Japanese Soldier. Most of the pictures show what we believe to be the original owner of the album along with his comrades in arms while in China. The pictures show lovely Chinese style art and structures, as well as some local inhabitants of the area the Army was occupying. There are a lot of pictures of soldiers in uniform, posing with each other, playing with animals, holding cats and dogs, meal times, guard duty and many, many more! There are even a few “selfies” of the original owner!
The pictures are in great condition and very easily recognizable, but unfortunately the actual album did not hold up quite so well. There is one piece of string holding the pages together, with quite a bit of the pages loose and torn. This issue can be easily fixed if you would wish to do so.
This is a beautiful album with some very unique shots of Japanese soldiers during WWII. There are some training photos as well as humorous photos and game playing.
Comes more than ready for further research, translation and display!
