  • Original Items. Only One Group Available. This is a very nice WWII Asiatic Pacific front bring-home grouping of Japanese souvenirs, all housed in a Japanese crate dated Showa 19, or 1944. There are no items that name the set to any soldier from any nation, so we aren’t sure if these items were brought back by an American soldier or was just put together by a Japanese soldier.

    The items include:

    - Japanese Crate measuring 11 ¾ x 19 ½ x 3 ¼”. Data plate dates the crate to 1944. Leather carry handle works fine.
    - Japanese WWII Pilot Bail Out Float Flag - 31 x 39”. Still retains most of buoyant stuffed in border. Some tearing.
    - 29 x 30” cotton meatball flag with tie strings at corners. Multi-piece. Heavy period staining and minor holes.
    - 33 x 13” medical troop towel with blue cross. Blue cross denotes Veterinary.
    - Six different Japanese ditty bags, some Navy, some Army, some marked with great Kanji. One has very heavy tearing and moth damage. Others are in great shape.
    - Japanese red and black headband, Kanji in center. 2 ⅛ x 15 ½”.
    - Five Japanese medals in their presentation cases. One small Naval medal, one Order of the Rising Sun, one Order of the Sacred Treasure, one 1931-1934 China Incident war medal, and one Japanese 1937-45 China Incident War Medal. All in boxes.
    - Six loose Japanese medals. One Order of the Rising Sun, one Japanese 1937-45 China Incident War Medal, one 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War medal, and three Japanese Red Cross Society medals, one bronze without ribbon, and two silver with ribbon.

A very nice lot of Japanese items purportedly brought back by an American soldier at the end of the war. Ready for display.
