Original Japanese WWII Officer Leather Map Case with Decorative Plaque, Tray, & USGI Photos

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a leather Japanese WWII Officer's map case is in very good condition, showing typical signs of wear. It is hand-stitched, and has a five pointed star stitch on the front. This denotes that the owner was of officer rank within the Japanese military. From this we also know that this map case is an earlier example; the later cases were embroidered with a circle instead of a star. The case has two compartments, a large main compartment, and a smaller one in the front, with pencil slots on the outside of the case. The top flap covers the case well, and there are two belt loops on the back, though there is no attached shoulder strap. The case measures approximately 10"H x 7"W x 4".

Inside the case are some lovely bring back collector items, including a decorative copper plaque mounted on wood, an Imperial Japanese marked hand-painted tray, and 4 USGI Photographs from their time in the pacific.

Just a wonderful set, full of display potential.
