Original Item. Only One Available. This is an excellent example of an Imperial Japanese 75mm HE round, as used with the Type 90 Field Gun. This round still retains nearly all of the original paint and markings, as well as the original casing, making this an exceptional offering.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
The Type 90 75 mm field gun (九〇式野砲, Kyūmaru-shiki yahō) was a field gun used by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Soviet-Japanese Border Wars and World War II. The Type 90 designation was given to this gun as it was accepted in the year 2590 of the Japanese calendar (1930). It was intended to replace the Type 38 75 mm field gun in front line combat units, but due to operational and budgetary constraints, the Type 38 continued to be used.
The round is in great shape and retains most of its paint, with a red band painted at the top under the fuze and a yellow band painted near the center. There are many Japanese stamps and markings on the body which are well-retained. The projectile fits perfectly into the casing for display, and should be displayed standing upright. The removal of the fuse reveals a small sheet with all of the round’s details.
The entire piece together measures approximately 31⅛” tall with a 3¾” diameter and comes ready for further research and display.
