Item Description
Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Group. This is a tremendous WWII Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Tropical Combat Ensemble including a tropical weight service shirt with a period-applied rank tab of Captain with bullion edges, tropical weight trousers, and some great field gear.
The following items comprise this rare set:
- Japanese WWII IJA Officer’s Tropical weight service shirt with period-applied Captain rank tab with bullion edges. There is a small stamp under the collar, possibly the size. All buttons are retained, as is the hanging strap on the back. These combat-worn shirts are incredibly difficult to source.
- Japanese WWII IJA Officer’s tropical weight trousers. The front clip is marked TRADEMARK DEPONIRT. The buttons are marked FOR GENTLEMEN, typical for the period. The trousers are in great order.
- Japanese WWII IJA Officer's Wool Forage Cap with original-applied star insignia and chinstrap held in by cherry blossom buttons. The interior shows heavy service wear with the sweatband entirely torn up, and the tightening laces are gone, with one of the grommets missing. There is some light mothing across the exterior.
- Japanese WWII IJA Officer’s wide khaki sword belt with saber chape still attached. Metal fittings have some oxidation and light verdigris. These are very scarce to find in any condition, and this one has a lovely patina.
- Japanese WWII IJA Officer’s canvas map case / backpack. This is a great and scarce model used in the field, small enough to be worn as a light backpack. No markings we could find.
This is the first Japanese Officer’s field uniform ensemble we have offered, and it’s really tremendous overall. Ready to put together on a mannequin and display!
