Original Japanese WWII Aluminum Canteen in Canvas Carrier - Dated 1942

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent example of an original USGI bring back Japanese WWII aluminum canteen with original early model cork stopper. The canteen is complete, and nicely marked and dated 1942. In addition, it appears the soldier painted his name on the front of the canteen.
The canteen is arsenal marked with a paint stamp on the bottom next to a maker marking stamped into the metal, and is stamped with 昭 17, for the 17th year of Emperor Showa's reign, 1942. The web harness is in good condition, with the expected fading and wear from being in service. This type of carrier is entirely canvas, without any leather straps for the cap, which were prone to breaking .
Overall a wonderful wartime issue canteen offered complete and dated. Ready to add to your collection!
