  • Original Items: Only One Set Available. Constructed of a rich medium brown leather, this helmet is offered in great service-flown condition. It is made of 8 separate pieces of leather, with a 5 pointed Japanese Army Star on the front, with the insignia still well-retained, rare to see. The interior is fur lined, the fur is soft and in wonderful condition. The rigid ear cups are complete, and made of hardened leather, each having holes in the center for mounting the communication equipment and receivers. The interior of one ear cup is very faintly marked; 昭十六 年 which means SHOWA 16 or 1941. All straps are fully functional, all the buckles and tabs work perfectly. The ear cups are a bit stiff and there is some heavy staining across the helmet.

Included with the helmet are classic cat eye goggles as worn by Japanese Army Pilots during WWII. Maroon aluminum frames with brown velvet face pads. Elastic headband strap is original and complete. The clear glass lenses are worn with very minor cracking but have a lovely patina. The set is offered in overall great worn condition.

A wonderful set that will be a focal point of any WWII Japanese aviator collection.
