  • Original Item: Only One Available. We are pleased to offer this never-before-seen, original-era manufactured Japanese model 1886 infantry hat. This is a short-pattern kepi, with a blue wool top and yellow wool piping and band and the classic brass star at center. The piping does not run the entire length of the crown, and appears to have been damaged or repaired at some point.

Complete with a short patent leather visor and a thin black patent leather chinstrap which is secured by two small brass buttons, which bear the Japanese "Cherry Blossom" emblem. The simple, brown leather sweatband has a few tears in several places. The lining is complete, and shows the original Japanese text in the interior of the hat, most likely the name of who it was issued to, and possibly the unit.

There are no real issues with mothing and not much in the way of staining or other cosmetic issues. Though somewhat fragile, the hat is not crushed or damaged and displays rather well.

Ready to add to your Japanese Collection!
