Original Item. Only One Available. Officially titled LA SCIABOLA MODELLO 1929 PER ARMI A PIEDI, this is a Model 1929 Foot Trooper Sergeant's sword that was carried by the Italian NCOs in the War with Ethiopia and throughout World War 2, even during the Russian campaign.
This scarce example sports a 34 ⅜” blade with the original leather blade buffer still retained. The plating shows some wear but is in good order overall. The ricasso is marked with a boxed CA over a maker’s stamp, reading ENUTTI or something similar. The CA stamp is an Italian Army proof stamp. The overall length is 40½”. The wooden grip is stamped 23.
The 35½” scabbard is in good shape with much of the plating retained, but heavy oxidation has overtaken much of its length. Both suspension rings are intact.
