Original Item: Only One Available. This is a great example of a WWII Italian Mountain Trooper's oversize aluminum canteen, complete with the often missing cap. Additionally, these were issued in the North African campaign due to their large size. The Canteen and all metal fittings are aluminum, making this a very light canteen, and also very resistant to any type of corrosion in the field. The large size was great for mountain troops, as they were often far from where running water could be found. This capacity also worked very well in North Africa, due to the heat and scarcity of water in the field.
The canteen is in very good condition, with no issues or major dents that we can see. The wool covering is very good with one 1" hole and no other moth damage or wear that we can see.
This is a great Italian Mountain Trooper / North African canteen with cap. A fine addition to any WWII Italian collection.
